First Step
If you’re new to following Jesus, or just beginning to explore what Christianity is all about, First Step is a great place to begin. It’s a relaxed, welcoming space to learn the basics of the faith, grow in your understanding of Jesus, and ask honest questions without any pressure.
What Is First Step?
Together, we’ll explore some of the biggest questions of faith, Who is God? Who is Jesus? How was the Bible put together? How do we participate in the church? – in an honest, no-pressure conversation. There’s no homework and nothing to prepare. Just show up and be part of the conversation.

Where does First Step meet?
In the South Dock Classroom, the small building on the west end of campus, closest to Coffee Road. 4242 Coffee Rd, Modesto, CA 95357.
When does First Step meet?
Sunday’s throughout the year from 11:30am–12:30pm. Register below to see the next upcoming date.
Who can attend?
First Step is open to Jr. High and up, wherever you’re starting from in your faith.
Is childcare provided?
Yes. Free childcare is available for ages 0–5th grade in our nursery and children’s areas.
Do I need to register?
Yes, we ask everyone to register in advance so we can plan for you (and your family, if childcare is needed).
Do I need to bring anything?
Nope, just show up. We’ll take care of the rest.
