FAQ
How do I know if my child needs me?
When you check in, your child’s security tag prints a matching four-digit code. If a team member ever needs you during service, that code will show up on the screen.
What is my child learning at Shelter Cove?
In Cove Kids, we teach biblically grounded, theologically sound lessons that are shaped for every age, from our littlest ones all the way through 5th grade.
What are your diaper changing and restroom policies?
Diaper-changing stations are set up right in the classrooms, in view of other team members at all times. When an older child needs help in the restroom, more than one team member is always present.
Where can I nurse my child?
We have a private room for nursing moms located in our nursery. Just ask at the nursery front desk and our team will get you set up.
What should I do if my child asks about getting baptized?
That’s such a great moment! Reach out to the church, and we’ll walk through with you what that next step would look like for your child.
Do you have a family dedication?
Yes, we hold Family Dedications about twice a year. Talk with our Kids Ministry Director to learn more and find out when the next one is coming up.
Do you offer summer camp or Vacation Bible School?
Yes! Our Kids Camp runs Monday through Friday for one week every June. Registration typically opens around Easter each year, so keep an eye out.
What does my child need to bring to church?
If your child is in our nursery, please bring a diaper bag with whatever supplies they typically need. Older nursery kids and elementary-aged kids don’t need to bring anything, we provide everything for a great time.
How can I lead my kids to a relationship with Jesus?
You have the greatest influence in your child’s life. Be intentional about following Jesus yourself, and talk with your kids often about why you love Him and what He means to you. Bringing your family to church regularly and building relationships with other families who love Jesus makes a real difference, kids are far more likely to choose a life with Jesus when they see it lived out around them.
