Hey Shelter Cove Family!
As our culture continues to grow increasingly violent–particularly towards churches and houses of worship–we have to continually examine our security measures and adjust accordingly. The bottom line—we always want to be proactive rather than reactive.
That being said, in addition to current security protocols already in place, we have hired third-party security to provide a visible, armed security presence on campus to act as a deterrent on weeknights when kids and students are present. Any weeknight groups, events, or other situations where we offer childcare or programming for Nursery through students will have this added layer of security.
This will go into effect Monday, October 6th.
Please keep in mind this is a proactive, not reactive, decision. There is currently no specific, credible threat to our campus or congregation. We are simply working a step ahead and want to be prepared, should something ever arise. Depending on what ministries you and your family are involved in, or where you are serving, you may or may not be impacted by this change. My desire is to keep communication open and clear, so no one is caught off-guard.
Reach out to me with any questions you may have!
