He’s orchestrating something beyond your immediate relief. He’s preparing a display of His power that will strengthen not just your faith, but the faith of everyone watching your story unfold.

Day 2: Faith That Speaks Honestly

Reading: John 11:17-27

Devotional: Martha’s raw honesty with Jesus is beautiful: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” She didn’t hide her disappointment or confusion. Yet in the same breath, she declared faith: “Even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” This is authentic faith—bringing our hurt, questions, and doubts directly to Jesus while still trusting His character. Jesus doesn’t want religious politeness; He wants real relationship. You don’t need to sanitize your prayers or pretend everything’s fine. Bring your “if only” statements to Him. He can handle your honesty. And in that vulnerable space, He meets you with truth: “I am the resurrection and the life.” Everything you need is found in Him.

You don’t need perfect words or composed prayers. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply let Jesus sit with you in your sorrow, knowing He understands completely.

Day 4: The Voice That Brings Life

Reading: John 11:38-44

Devotional: “Lazarus, come out!” With those three words, Jesus called a dead man back to life. He didn’t need to touch the body or perform elaborate rituals. His voice alone carried resurrection power. The same voice that spoke creation into existence speaks life into your dead situations today. What feels finished in your life? What relationship, dream, or hope seems buried and rotting? Jesus specializes in bringing life where death has settled in. But notice this: after Lazarus emerged, Jesus told the community to “unbind him and let him go.” Jesus gives life, but He often uses community to remove grave clothes—the old shame, fear, and labels. You need both Christ’s resurrection power and authentic community to walk in complete freedom.

Day 5: Do You Believe This?

Reading: John 11:25-26; John 20:30-31

Devotional: Jesus asked Martha the most important question anyone will ever face: “Do you believe this?” Not “Do you understand this?” or “Can you explain this?” but simply, “Do you believe?” The entire Gospel of John builds to this singular invitation—to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through believing, you may have life in His name. This isn’t intellectual agreement; it’s personal trust. It’s saying yes to Jesus as your resurrection and life, your only source of eternal hope. Every miracle, every teaching, every moment in Scripture points to this decision. Today, Jesus asks you the same question He asked Martha. Your answer determines everything—not just where you’ll spend eternity, but how you’ll live today. Will you believe?
