God knows every fiber of our being, every thought in our mind, every motive of our heart, and He sees the sins we will commit long before they’ve been committed. Yet, how often do we stop to consider the ways we sin each day, and genuinely confess and repent of them? The Bible says in Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Then in 1 John 1:9 it says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Asking God to forgive us isn’t a task to keep our slate clean; it’s how we initiate restoration in our relationship with Him and draws us closer to Him along the way. This is an ongoing process where we continually humble ourselves before the Lord, asking Him for forgiveness, so that we would be cleansed from the inside out, renewed in our hearts and minds.

Today, spend some time digging into the corners of your heart and mind, bringing to light the things that need to be repented of, and ask God for His grace and forgiveness. In His lovingkindness He is faithful and just to forgive.
