Lies have a way of working themselves into unexpected places, and are often masked by something attractive. A brief omission of facts, a little white lie, silence instead of a stand for truth, a detestable truth cleverly disguised… There are countless ways the world tries to trick us into following anything but the truth. Thankfully we have the ultimate source of truth–God’s Word–to come back to when we aren’t sure what to believe. “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalm 25:5 When we spend time in His Word, getting to know His character and promises, we can confidently measure what the world says against what God’s Word says.
In your prayer time today, ask God to reveal Himself as you intentionally seek Him and thoughtfully study His Word. He will be faithful!
