Jesus calls us to love our neighbors, serving them with kindness and grace. Community is so important to a person’s sense of belonging, and whether that’s in church or in a neighborhood, we want to do all we can to love others in such a way that they feel known and welcome wherever they’re at.

Today we’re going to focus our prayer time on those who make up our community. Neighbors, people working at the stores you frequent, the small businesses trying to make a positive impact in their community–so many people intersect with our lives each day, and it’s our privilege to pray for them.

You might even consider taking your prayer time out into the mission field, so to speak. How about a prayer walk around your neighborhood, or asking your neighbor how you can pray for them? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and see where you end up.
